Mesterolone is a DHT-derived oral with a methyl group at the 1-alpha position. Unlike most oral anabolics, it is not C17-alpha-alkylated, which makes it considerably easier on the liver. Its anabolic activity is weak — but its androgenic activity and binding affinity for sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) are pronounced.



The main practical use of Proviron is freeing up testosterone. By binding to SHBG, it raises the percentage of free, biologically active testosterone in circulation. That makes it valuable as an add-on rather than a primary compound. Common doses are 25 to 50mg daily, often added to an existing testosterone-based cycle to enhance its effective potency.



Proviron is also used at the back end of cycles to improve hardness, libido, and overall sense of well-being. It does not aromatize and does not require liver support, but like any androgen it does suppress natural testosterone and warrants a structured PCT.
